ABOUT US
The South Florida International Association of Investigations Unit (SF IASIU) is a non-profit organization that was established in 1995 when a group of notable investigators gathered between Gerald Zappolo, Robert Cooper, Elizabeth Johnson, Gil Colon and Dennis Mensch. It was evident that a better, more organized and focused structure was needed to bring the fraud fighting community together through education, awareness and networking in order to suppress a wide variety of fraud schemes.
The chapter is affiliated with International Association of Special Investigations Unit. Our members consist of Insurance employees of Special Investigations Units, Special Agents or Supervisors of the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), Prosecutors and Law Enforcement Insurance Crime Prevention Bureau.
Our chapter’s purpose is in line with IASIU’s Mission:
• Promote a coordinated effort within the industry to combat insurance fraud;
• Provide education and training for insurance investigators;
• Develop greater awareness of the insurance fraud problem;
• Encourage high professional standards of conduct among insurance investigators;
• and Support legislation that acts as a deterrent to the crime of insurance fraud.
